Shipments and returns
Your wine shipment
Packages are generally dispatched within 2 days after receipt of payment. If you prefer express delivery, an additional cost will be applied, so please contact us before choosing this method.
Shipping fees include handling and packing fees as well as postage costs. Handling fees are fixed, whereas transport fees vary according to total weight of the shipment. We advise you to group your items in one order. We cannot group two distinct orders placed separately, and shipping fees will apply to each of them.
Boxes are amply sized and your items are well-protected.
Returns
Although we always strive to provide the perfect service, we understand that mistakes do occasionally happen. If we have provided you with items that are not identical to the ones you ordered, we will gladly exchange it or refund you for the relevant amount, less delivery charges and handling fees, provided the original order is returned to us complete, at your cost. In certain instances, we may not be able to acquire the vintage you ordered, due to circumstances beyond our control. When this is the case, we will strive to convey the vintage change to you, and offer the currently available vintage.
Whilst we do our utmost to ensure the quality level of the wines that are sold through abuzzWine, we are unfortunately not in a position to refund or exchange wines that were not to your personal preference.
Returns procedure
To arrange a return, please contact us on support@abuzzwine.co.za, and we shall arrange collection from a convenient location in South Africa. Returns collections carry a minimum charge of R175 (up to 12 bottles, depending on location), then R75 per 6 bottles thereafter. Collection will be arranged once payment has been received. Customers may also arrange the return on their own account.
Overseas Customers
Overseas Customers wishing to return wines are accountable for all shipping charges incurred in the return of goods.
Courier delays
Late dispatch / delivery of goods attributable to third party suppliers or couriers do not qualify for a refund.
Wines purchased in error
abuzzWine strive to clearly display the correct information, particularly regarding sales order quantities where wines are sold in quantities other than the usual case of 6 bottles.
abuzzWine cannot be held accountable for errors made in the ordering process by the customer, but will offer a refund.
Because the wines are not defective, the Consumer Protection Act does not compel retailers to take back wines purchased in error.
Refund policy
If a customer requires a refund due to an error made in the ordering process, there will be a returns fee (see "Returns procedure" above) plus a handling fee of 12.5% of the total invoice amount, to cover the costs of returning the wines to the supplier. The customer will be refunded the balance only once the wines have been returned, inspected, and deemed fit for resale.
Alternately, if the customer wishes to be issued with a credit on his account, the handling fee will be a deduction of 10% of the total invoice amount against the credit, to cover re-stocking processes.
Products out of stock
Whilst every effort is made to ensure stock availability is accurately indicated, if an item is ordered that is out of stock or not available, we will offer to place the item on back-order prior to the new release, or issue a credit note to the value of the order.
If a refund is required, a 10% transaction fee will be deducted from the original order value.
